Do you know what our kids are in for?

If you haven’t read Peggy Orenstein’s new book, Girls & Sex, or heard her speak, check out her TED talk.

The moment in her talk that hits me hard is when she says that before interviewing all those young women, this very smart, well-informed, articulate woman would have made the common parenting mistakes with her own daughter and patted herself on the back for a job well done.

Peggy’s talk will help you understand what our kids really need.  You might not know how to do it.  That’s where I can help.  Are you registered for the Preteens or Teens webinars this month?

This skill building is the core of what I work on with my clients.

Warning our kids that they shouldn’t get pregnant or a sexually transmitted disease is much less effective than helping them learn how to have a talk with their partner.

Telling them not to get into vulnerable situations where boundaries will be pushed at best, or sexual assault at worst, is much less helpful than teaching them how to feel and defend their boundaries and effective exit strategies.

Ready to dive into these conversations and teach these skills?  You don’t have to do it alone.  I’m here to help.  Grab a spot on my calendar, and we’ll get started.

In support of you,

Anya
